Connect, collaborate, and create at The Film Chain, a once a month networking event for filmmakers and creative professionals in New York City.

This gathering offers a welcoming space to meet creatives, exchange ideas, collaborate, and build professional relationships.

No matter your experience, everyone is welcome.

Next Event: November 22nd.

Film is built on collaboration.

Behind every film is a community of people — countless artists and creatives bring their individual talents, perspectives, and experiences together to create something greater than any one person could make alone.

New York City has always been a meeting place for artists, filmmakers, performers, and creative thinkers from around the world. But in a city this big and fast-moving, finding the right people and creating genuine connections can sometimes be difficult.

That’s why we made The Film Chain.

Our goal with The Film Chain is to bring together filmmakers and people working across the creative arts for an evening around meeting people, starting conversations, sharing ideas, and building relationships.

Our group was created with a simple belief: community matters. We want people to grow through relationships, mentorship, shared experiences, connections as well as have the opportunity to find collaborators for their upcoming projects.

Sometimes one conversation leads to a project. Our goal is to not only create a space to create conversation, but to keep conversation flowing.

Whether you're just getting started, actively working in the industry, returning to your craft, or simply passionate about film and the arts, you're welcome here.

Bring your ideas! Bring your curiosity!

You never know who you'll meet—or what you'll create together.

Meet our founder:

Arlo Koski

After working in the film industry in front of the camera for almost 10 years, I knew I was forever connected to working within film. I developed a love for the power of the environment around you within storytelling, and Set design felt like a natural extension of that experience. Now with my background within the Art Department I knew I wanted to create a space to help grow the film community in whatever way I could.

I started The Film Chain because I’ve experienced the industry from different sides of the creative process. Being involved in different areas of filmmaking has shown me just how much collaboration, community, and connection go into bringing an idea to life.

I wanted to create a space where filmmakers in NYC could meet beyond the usual set environment, share what they’re working on, exchange ideas, talk honestly about the challenges of the industry, and find people to create with. There’s nothing more important than community, especially within an industry like ours.

The Film Chain is about making the film community feel a little bit closer in a city as big as New York, building genuine relationships, and reminding people that some of the best projects start with a simple conversation. My goal is to create a hopeful, welcoming, and collaborative community where emerging filmmakers can connect, encourage one another, and grow together, one gathering at a time.
